Specification

Ideal for fast and easy observations of distant subjects, the Olympus 10x42 Magellan EXWP I Binocular sports a magnification and objective lens size favored by birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts who are constantly on the move. The Magellan is made with phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated optics to produce color-accurate high-contrast views without distortion or color fringing, so your distant subjects look crisp and clear with excellent resolution. The binoculars wide apparent angle of view minimizes the appearance of the distracting hand shake that is common with high-power optics. With avid users in mind, Olympus treated the objective lenses with ultraviolet (UV)-blocking coatings to prevent this harmful radiation from damaging your eyes. Designed for daily outdoor use in all weather and to make it easy to hold, the Magellan features a slip-resistant armoring to provide a sure and positive grip. A standard 1/4-20 socket allows it to be mounted on most quick-release plate, heads, photo/video/field tripods, and other support systems, using an optional adapter, for hands-free use. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if the weather turns or the Magellan takes an accidental spill in a stream or puddle.
Optical Performance
Powerful 10x magnification brings distant subjects in close for detailed observation
42mm objective lenses improve light-gathering ability versus smaller objectives while helping to maintain a compact form factor
Compact roof prism light path ensures a slim profile without sacrificing performance
BAK4 prism glass delivers a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
Phase-correcting prism coatings eliminate internal interference to improve resolution and contrast
Fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission to produce bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color and improved resolution
Ultraviolet (UV) blocking lens coatings prevent harmful radiation from damaging eyes—especially for those who frequently use the binocular
9-element/6-group lens design
Wide 60° apparent angle of view helps to minimize the appearance of the distracting hand shake that is common when looking through high-power optics
316 field of view at 1000 yards Use and Handling
Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid platform for the focusing mechanism
Large slip-resistant center focusing wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, or while wearing gloves
±2 dioptric correction allows for precise focusing even for those who normally require corrective eyewear
Twist-up eyecups enable precise eye relief settings, even for those who use them while wearing glasses
60-70mm interpupillary adjustment range
14mm eye relief
4.2mm exit pupil will cover most pupils as they open and dilate in low light Construction Details
